Parking Permit Information - 2017-18 Seniors and Juniors:

posted Aug 4, 2017, 1:14 PM by Lori Cowan-Lane   [ updated Aug 4, 2017, 1:15 PM ]

We hope that you are having a great summer. With the school year set to start in a month, we will be preparing for the sale of parking permits. The process will be similar to last year, with two major changes.

First, if more senior applications are turned in than we have parking spots, all of the senior applications will be placed into a lottery and randomly select 250 of them to be able to purchase a permit. Due to this change, there is absolutely no benefit to rushing to get your application turned in, all applications will be given the same priority. Again, there is no guarantee of getting a parking permit if more than 250 applications are received.  If there are less than 250 applications received, every senior student that applied will be able to purchase a permit. The remaining number of permits will be available to Juniors. All Junior applications received will be placed into a lottery and randomly selected.  Again, there is no guarantee of getting a parking permit if more Junior applications are received than what are available.  It is not necessary to arrive at the school early in the morning to turn in your application, all applications will be given the same priority.

Second, to be eligible to turn in a parking permit application, students must:

1.     Have completed their career credit

2.     Have all prior year's fees paid in full

3.     Attach a current copy of the students driver's license to the application

4.     Senior applications accepted:  August 14 - August 18

5.     Junior applications accepted:  August 21 - August 25

Please see the attached information sheet for all of the details.  Please contact Adam Mitchell (amitchell@sherwood.k12.or.us) with any questions you have.
