Tutoring:
Each NHS member is required to give one hour of tutoring per two months. This can be done during lunch or after school in the Academic Success Center with Ms Comer or Saturday School.  Please use the sign up sheet provided in Ms Comer's room or Ms Riley's room.

Lunch Academy and after school NHS Tutoring: Ms. Comer provides a homework help and support session every Monday - Thursday in her Commons classroom. She needs tutors who might specialize in either math and science to assist her in this process. She's hoping the more tutors there are available, the more students there will be to take advantage of this unique opportunity. Note: Lunch Academy is only 30 minutes. Students will need to do two Lunch Academy sessions for their hour.

A note from Ms. Comer on tutoring: "Lunch Academy will take place during both lunches, Monday through Friday at this point. Students and tutors need to be there no more than 10 minutes after the lunch period begins. This is an academic intervention for freshmen only and students are assigned to be there.

After School Academy runs Monday through Thursday, 2:50--3:50 for all grades. Teachers and parents can encourage students to attend, but it is not assigned.

We are limiting the number of tutors per session to two. This way, the students do not feel intimidated by a large number of tutors (in their words, "smart people") in the room. I am asking that tutors sit at different tables and that they get up and walk around the room to check on students when not working directly with one."
