TEEN COURT

Advisor/Coordinator:  Ms. Artajo-Cornell (A.C.)

Student Leaders:  Members of the Court

This court is a forum of young people learning about the alternative program (also known as Teen Court, Youth Court or Peer Court) to the traditional juvenile system and how their role can make a difference in the community.

Teen Court provides opportunities for members to actively participate in the decision-making process for handling crime committed by youth 12 to 17 years old.  Members are trained to hear real-life legal cases as a jury member.

The goal is for students to gain hands-on knowledge about the juvenile and criminal justice systems.

We meet after school in E14, usually the 2nd & 4th Monday of the month.  One Monday is dedicated to training, the other is sitting on the jury.

Join us and get more information by coming to a meeting or by talking to Ms. A.C. in E9.

Members earn community service hours.
