About Me

I love being a teacher! I've known I wanted to be a high school teacher since I was 19, and after ten years, I still think it's the best job ever. I'm an unabashed bookworm, and love reading about how the brain learns, and how we can improve the learning process.

I lived a bunch of places growing up--New York, Texas, and California, to name some. I met my husband at UCLA (go Bruins!), where we were both completing Bachelors of Science in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. Then, he moved to Washington DC to study forensic science, and I stayed in California to work on my Masters of Education at Stanford University.

After getting married, my husband landed a job at the Dallas County Crime Lab, so we moved to Dallas! We had lived there for six years, when Daniel decided he wanted to be a data scientist, so we picked up and moved to Seattle for a training boot-camp, and then to Portland when he got a job here. We are loving exploring Oregon!

In our spare time, we like hiking in beautiful places, travelling the world, eating delicious food, listening to music, playing board games, and hanging out with friends.

We love getting recommendations on where to go next!
