Hello, SHS students and families!

Your SHS Counseling team wanted to reach out to say hello, and we miss you!.  The entire team is working remotely from home during this uncertain time. We want you to know that we are here for you to help answer questions, provide information, and offer our support during this challenging time.  We will be posting helpful information and resources on the counseling page of the school website for you to access. These resources will include personal/social, academic, and college/career resources to help you while at home.  Please know that we are checking email throughout the day M-F (7:30am - 3:30pm) and will do our best to respond to you within 24 hours.

Emotions like fear, sadness, anger, frustration, and anxiety are natural responses to the COVID-19 outbreak. Many of us will experience some or all of these emotions and others as we cope with the novel Coronavirus. It is important to remember that everyone reacts differently to stressful situations and that you are never alone.  We have resources on our website to help during these challenging times. If someone you know is having suicidal thoughts, GET HELP IMMEDIATELY by contacting the student's parents or calling 911 to have them do a wellness check.

It’s also natural to have many questions during these uncertain times.  Please know that our district office and school administrative team are working closely with the Oregon Department of Education on next steps moving forward.  We will do our best to answer your questions as we receive new information each day. Stay tuned for more information and be safe. We are looking forward to a time when we can be together again in person; and in the meantime we are here to support you virtually! Please feel free to reach out.

Sincerely,

The SHS Counseling Team
