I’m sorry that there has been a lack of communication over the past two weeks. My hope is that this newsletter will answer many of your questions and provide as much information as we have:
Please know that our greatest desire is to provide meaningful learning opportunities and authentic relationships to each Sherwood High School student. I am confident that the staff and faculty in this building will do just that over the coming weeks. Thank you for partnering with us and as always, if you need anything, please let me know.
Fall 2020/Quarter One Schedules
Student schedules will be visible in StudentVue and ParentVue after 3:30pm on Friday, September 4th. As I explained in the video message, building our schedule this year was extraordinarily challenging. We fully recognize and understand that this is not an ideal situation to be in, but we have checked and know that every student is enrolled in courses that will move them toward high school graduation. Below is further information about the schedules and our next steps:
- Quarter One is the only class schedule available at this time.
- Numerous students received classes they did not forecast for. This occurred because of the constraints placed on our schedule as a result of attempting to meet the COVID-19 guidelines.
- Schedule changes will only occur for level misplacements. At this time, we can not accommodate any other schedule change requests.
- We will spend the next several weeks reworking our schedule in order to build the best possible learning experience for our students.

Free Meals Available for SSD Students
Starting September 14th, our Nutrition Services Department will once again begin meal distribution services for SSD students. Due to an expansion in the food program from the State of Oregon, all students now qualify for free meals through December 2020. Nutrition Services and Transportation are working together to provide meal delivery to all rural routes and bus stops. Meal distribution hubs will also operate at all schools sites for families who reside in walk zones.
In order for your student(s) to receive meals, you will need to register using our order form, found here. Please stay tuned for additional information about meal delivery routes and hub hours.
