Graduation:  Friday, June 7, 2019 @ 7:00 pm at the SHS stadium.  


  • Rain or shine!

  • Limited parking, so plan accordingly.  No parking on the grass! Carpooling is recommended!

  • Early Admittance Tickets

    Due to complaints in years past, and our concern for people’s safety, we are starting a new system for admittance into the stadium for the graduation ceremony.  All seniors participating in the graduation ceremony will receive 6 early admittance tickets.  These tickets will allow early entrance access into the stadium for the graduation ceremony from 5:45-6:30 pm.  Only those with a valid ticket will be allowed into the stadium during that time period.  Tickets will be collected at all entrances.     Everyone is still welcome to attend the graduation ceremony, the tickets are for early admittance only.  Students will receive their tickets at the mandatory senior class meeting on May 29th.  Tickets not picked up at the meeting can be picked up in the main office by the graduate only. 

    The SHS campus is closed to the public until after school is dismissed for the day, so please do not line up prior to 2:50 pm on June 7th.  The graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 7:00 pm. 

  • Sherwood High School approved cap & gown required for participation in the graduation ceremony. NO WRITING ON OR DECORATING CAP/GOWN FOR THE GRADUATION CEREMONY!

  • MANDATORY Graduation Practice for seniors June 7th @ 9:00 am in the aux. gym.

  • Senior Awards Night is Monday, June 3rd @ 6:30 pm in commons.

  • Senior Assembly in the main gym beginning at 8:00 am on Friday, June 7, 2019.

        Senior assembly begins promptly at 8:00am on June 7th.

*** All seniors participating in the graduation ceremony must attend the mandatory graduation rehearsal immediately following the awards assembly on the morning of June 7th (9:00am).  Seniors will meet in the auxiliary gym for rehearsal.  If you do not participate in the mandatory rehearsal, you cannot participate in the graduation ceremony!  DO NOT BE LATE AND YOU MUST STAY THE ENTIRE PRACTICE!  NO EXCUSES OR EXCEPTIONS!***

         Graduation is Friday, June 7th at 7:00pm in the stadium-rain or shine!  Gates open at 5:45 for early admission ticket holders and 6:30pm for the general public.  Live streaming of the ceremony will be available for anyone who is not able to make it to the ceremony but would like to watch it.  SHS website will contain details and link information beginning on June 7th.

            No reserved parking for graduation (with the exception of limited handicapped parking).

            Seniors must have their career credit complete to participate in the graduation ceremony and pick up their cap and gown.

            Each graduating senior who is participating in the graduation ceremony will be given 6 early admission tickets with your cap & gown.  If you are borrowing a cap/gown, you must bring it in to Lori Cowan-Lane in the SHS main office to get the color dye-lot checked to make sure it matches our current gowns.  You will then receive your early admission tickets.  Tickets can only be picked up by the student with student ID.  If you need to purchase a tassel, you can do so through Lori Cowman-Lane for $10.

            Seniors must have all fines and fees paid at check-out in order to participate in the graduation ceremony.  

            Seniors must wear a Sherwood High School approved cap & gown to participate in the graduation ceremony.  Only school-issued cords or medals are allowed to be worn at the ceremony (given out at the senior awards night, senior awards assembly, or individual approved clubs).  No extra adornment is allowed (this includes writing on cap or gown, flowers, water bottles, cell phones, keys, gum, etc.)  Hang your cap and gown out for a couple of days prior to the ceremony and/or steam the wrinkles out of it.  Be careful as a hot iron can burn the material!

            Leave all valuables at home.  Sherwood High School and the Sherwood School District are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

            GRADUATES must be in the auxiliary gym by 6:20pm on Friday, June 7th.  Only graduates are allowed in the gym.  No personal items such as cell phones and water bottles, etc. are allowed to be with the graduate.  

            Pick up diplomas in the commons immediately following the graduation ceremony.  Those not picked up the night of graduation can be picked up in the main office the following week.  Diplomas will not be mailed!

            Please remember to be mature and respectful before, during and after the graduation ceremony.  Dress nicely, this is a formal event that you should take pride in.  

3.  Senior check-out forms and scholarship information handed out.  Forms are due by 3:00pm Friday, May 31st.  No seniors are allowed on campus after the 31st, unless approved by teacher or administration.   Make sure you fill out the scholarship and award information page AND turn it in,  to be included in the graduation program.  This is the senior students responsibility!

4.  PCC cords (you have 9 or more PCC dual credits)- if you did not pick yours up at the senior meeting, you can pick up in the counseling office.

4. Counseling announcements:
May 1 st is college decision deadline. If you have any questions or financial aid issues, please see Ms. Ryan in the College and Career Center.
Please review your transcript to make sure ALL information is correct
ALL Career credit from past and present due May 17th! NO EXCEPTIONS! (Make sure you check your Naviance account today to confirm completion. 48-72 hour turn around so don’t wait until last minute!)
All outside program grades due by May 17th .
Senior Exit Survey is due before you check out on May 31 st .
5. Prom announcements:
All class/student fees must be paid in order to purchase prom tickets. Tickets on sale now through the end of late lunch on Friday, 4/26. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Prom tickets will be sold in advance only, NOT at the door!

6. Reminders:
Reminder no decorating cap/gown and no “extras” with the exception of school
awarded medals and or cords/stoles.

You will pick up your cap and gown at the May 29th meeting IF you have your career
credit complete and have paid for your cap/gown in full. (questions or concerns please
see your counselor or Mrs. Dannen)

In order to participate in the graduation ceremony, you must complete the senior
check-out form and survey, which includes returning all borrowed books and equipment
and all fines and fees paid through Debi Bear. The check-out form will be handed out
and explained at the May 29th senior class meeting.
