Dear Class of 2021,
I’ve been trying to figure out the right words to send to you for the last couple of weeks…but it’s been REALLY hard. I can’t even imagine some of the things going through your minds right now. The start of your last year of high school was supposed to be a time filled with excitement, anticipation, experiencing the new building, and all things fun. We, the adults in this building, were supposed to be talking with you about finishing strong, making sure you were making smart choices and encouraging you to avoid the dreaded Senioritis.
But none of that is happening right now. None of that is happening right now because our world is in the midst of something that we have ever experienced before. Things are happening all around us that are unfathomable.
And I’m sorry. I’m so very sorry.
While many things have changed and are different than what was expected, one thing that has not changed is the tradition of graduation. We will celebrate your time at Sherwood High School and all of your great accomplishments in June. Because of that, you will be placing your order for your cap and gown and other graduation materials in an event we are calling “Senior Graduation Order Week.”
Next week, you will receive information from our graduation partner (Jostens). These emails are extremely important as they will provide you with the information and advice you need to create the perfect graduation experience. The ordering event will be held virtually and you will have the opportunity to interface directly with Jostens moving forward.
Here is a quick video just explaining everything again:
