Message From Principal Adam Mitchell

In continuing from Trimester 1, we are off to a great start with Trimester 2! A unique aspect of the high school is that each trimester becomes its own mini school year, which brings a renewed excitement and anticipation of new classes and new learning.

With the colder and wetter weather, we are starting to see couple of parent and student parking lot issues:

  • Parents – Please continue to pull forward in the drop-off line in the mornings. The more cars that we can fit in our parking lot at one time, the quicker it will be for everyone to get through the light at Elwert, drop of their student(s), and exit the lot. Thank you for your help making this as efficient as possible!
  • Students – Please ensure that only permitted seniors are parked in the lower lot. Additionally, students may only park in spots available to them, and not in visitors spots or along any curb that is not a lined spot.

Our Bowmen excellence continues to be on display with our band program winning the Blue Ribbon Award for the Northwest Division from the National Band Association. This is an incredibly prestigious award that is based on many years of successive excellence and performance by the program. Additionally, our Yearbook program won third place for large school yearbooks at the 2023 Northwest Scholastic Press Fall Media Day. Congratulations to both of these exceptional SHS Programs!

Finally, we had our Canned Food Drive assembly today. Click here to see some of the Mr. Pratt vs. Mr. Mitchell pie eating contest! Spoiler alert…Mr. Pratt won! Please send any canned food to donate with your student next week!

Have a great weekend and Go Bowmen!

Mr. Mitchell
