For the Month of March 2025

TENNIS

Braxton Edy

Braxton is having a great start to the season.  This is our 2nd year coaching him and we have seen tremendous growth as a player and a person.  We are proud of his off season commitment and dedication to improve and we look forward to this season.

Vicky Nguyen

Vicky has been with the HS team all four years of her HS Career; she has qualified for state 3 years and is Co-Captain this year. Her lifetime record is 52-16, including Districts and State and 36-11 in Dual Meets.

SOFTBALL

Camryn Knight

Camryn is a 4.0 student and senior outfielder for Sherwood Softball.  She was voted one of the captains of the softball team by her fellow players and she has signed to play softball at Oregon State University next year.

TRACK

Wilson Medina

Wilson Medina is a current senior and new to the track team. In his first few weeks of practice Wilson has shown tremendous work ethic and skill in the sprints and jumps. In our first inters quad meet Wilson jumped over 20′ in the Long Jump placing him 15th all-time and the Bowmen record board. 

Evylee Bugher

Evylee after a long consistent winter of training was able to attend the Wildwood Miles event at Lincoln High School and race with the top flight of runners there. Evylee broke the Sherwood High School record for the mile running 5:04.76.

GOLF

Zamara Peterson

Zamara is an exceptional multi-sport varsity athlete, excelling in both soccer and golf. As the Captain of the varsity golf team, she demonstrates outstanding competitiveness, leadership and sportsmanship. Her encouraging nature makes her a role model for teammates of all experience/skill levels. She was our team’s low scorer in the first tournament of the month. 

LACROSSE

Cole Friendy

Cole consistently sets the cultural tone within the Lacrosse Program. He always leads by example and works hard to support his teammates on and off the field. Outside of his own level of athletic pursuit; he invests lots of time coaching Youth Lacrosse Athletes and has become a staple role model in many of their lives. Cole is Senior Captain of the Varsity Boys team this year and he has big goals for pushing his teammates to be their best that they can be. 

For the Month of February 2025

SWIM

Erin Gonzalez

Erin is a senior and a captain who has been a big asset to our team over the past 4 years.  She only swims high school swimming, yet is as fast as some of our club swimmers.  She always shows up ready to work hard and set a good example for her teammates.  We are excited to watch her swim at Districts.  She will be missed next year by her coaches and teammates. We wish her the best on her next adventure at Oregon State University studying Animal Science. 

Tate Ogle


Tate is a senior who was new to the swim team last year.  He is very coachable and always works hard in practice. Tate has made huge improvements from where he started last year.  He has become a big part of helping our boys team win dual meets this season as well as taking lots of photos for our team the last 2 seasons.  We are looking forward to watching him race at Districts.  He will be missed next year but wish him the best on his next adventure in aviation.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Brody Rygh

Brody Rygh has been on a tear on both ends of the floor. He has developed into an incredible on-ball defender and is scoring at a high rate on the offensive end. On top of that, he is a great teammate!

DANCE

Chloe VanAndel

Chloe is consistent, dependable, and hardworking. Her teammates and coaches can always count on her to lead by example and she demonstrates our team values both in and out of practice. We are so grateful to have Chloe as part of our team!

For the Month of January 2025

SWIM

Connor Dotson

Connor is a returning sophomore who has improved even more this year.  Earning a spot swimming the varsity 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke.  He is very coachable and always comes to practice ready to work hard.  We look forward to seeing his hard work pay off at Districts.

Ella Lacey

Ella is a freshman who has stepped up and swam the 200 IM when needed.  She is very coachable and works hard at practice.  She has improved so much in her first season and we look forward to seeing her hard work pay off at Districts. 

DANCE

Linnea Geiszler

Linnea was nominated for Athlete of the Month because of her hard work and dedication to her team and sport. Linnea is a quiet leader that is always giving maximum effort. She is a dependable teammate the everyone can count on to be a strong dancer at every practice and performance.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Izabella Macris

Izabella tied the season high for most rebounds in a game with 8, set a season-high record of 5 offensive rebounds, and recorded a season-high of 6 steals.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Avery Johnson

Avery has been relentless on defense and attacking the glass. He is a vocal leader, plays extremely hard and is a great teammate!

GIRLS SWIMMING

Mya Muckey

Mya is a freshman who is new to the Sherwood High School Swim Team and is our first Para-Swimmer.  She always comes to practice with a smile on her face and willing to learn.  She is highly coachable which has helped her make large improvements in just 3 weeks.  She is a huge inspiration to those around her, including her coaches.  We are excited to see what the season holds for her, with a good possibility of qualifying for the OSAA State Para-Swim Meet!

BOYS SWIMMING

Jackson Gardner

Jackson is a freshman. He always shows up to practice ready to work hard and excited to be there.  He started the season brand new to the sport and is already making great strides in technique.  We are excited to see where he goes in the sport of swimming!  

WRESTLING

Chrissy Miller

Chrissy finished first at our first tournament of the season and is looking to improve upon her 5th in state finish last year.

CHEER

Morgan Gladheim


Morgan is a shining example of dedication, positivity, and kindness. Now in her second year with Bowmen Cheer, she continues to amaze us each month with her consistent skills development and unwavering commitment to the team. Always on time and Msets a standard for hard work and responsibility.

What truly sets Morgan apart is her selflessness and heart for others. She took the initiative to support our new foreign exchange student by creating and sharing instructional videos for all cheer material, ensuring no one feels left behind. Her actions embody the true meaning of being a team player.

Her positive energy, encouragement, and compassion uplift everyone around her. We are beyond proud to have Morgan as part of our Bowmen family and can’t wait to see all the incredible things she will continue to accomplish!

Lexi Prouser

Lexi is an extremely kind, hardworking athlete that shows up for her team and coaches both in and out of practice. Lexi’s extremely motivated to see this team reach its full potential and inspires other members with her commitment. Lexi is an excellent athlete and we are so lucky to have her as part of our team!

Ben has been a force on both ends of the floor with his physicality, his vocal leadership and his rebounding. He has improved tremendously over the past couple years.

Izabella had a great week leading our team, being a positive leader, and led the way with 20 points vs. La Salle.

Arianna Kennett

Arianna shows up every practice ready to work hard and is a great example of giving 100 percent all of the time. We can always count on Arianna to go full out in each run through and her dedication to dance is admirable by all. We are so lucky to have Arianna as a member of the Sherwood Arrows.

GIRLS SOCCER

Zamara Peterson

Zamara is a senior co-captain on the varsity girls soccer team. She was just named to the Pacific Conference All League First Team as a midfielder. Zamara’s high soccer IQ on the field helped develop our younger players this year while also contributing to the high level of play with many of her teammates. Zamara is not only dedicated to soccer but also in the classroom! Congratulations Zamara!

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Senoya Bugher

Senior Senoya Bugher is having a fantastic final season of Cross Country. Senoya ran a lifetime personal best 18:31 taking first place at Sherwood’s home meet on Senior night. Senoya has consistently been the Bowmen number two runner and is currently ranked second in the Pacific conference.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Braden Stein

Braden is a current junior Varsity athlete on the Boys Cross Country team currently ranked 8th in the state for 6A teams. Braden was a big part of helping his team win the TRL and Pacific League crossover meet last week. Braden currently has the 10th fastest junior 5k time in Bowmen XC history.

GIRLS SOCCER

Morgan Gill

Morgan is a junior defensive midfielder and team captain on the Women’s Soccer Team. Morgan leads by example with a positive attitude and a very hard work ethic. Morgan has a ‘can do’ attitude and just gets the job done, especially in the air heading the ball. Morgan is a role model for her teammates and exemplifies what being a great teammate should be.

CHEER

Sydnee Meithof

Sydnee is a silent leader who consistently goes above and beyond in everything she does. She takes care of tasks without being asked and always seeks ways to assist her coaches and teammates. Her dedication to perfecting her skills and helping others learn has made a significant impact on Bowmen Cheer. We are incredibly proud of Sydnee and grateful for the quiet but powerful leadership qualities she brings to our team. Congratulations, Sydnee!

Madeline Holt

Madeline has been on the dance team for four years and is a captain as a senior this year. Madeline is a great example of what we expect from a student athlete. She balances school and team while maintaining good grades and a supportive teammate. She is the first to help out coaches or teammates when asked. We are proud of all she brings to the Sherwood Arrows!

CHEER

Riley Kliever

Riley is not only an outstanding athlete but an even more outstanding student. She consistently displays great character in everything she does, whether it’s working diligently to maintain her impressive grades, giving her all during practice, or being a supportive and positive teammate to everyone. Her coachability, kindness, and drive make her a true role model for our team. We are so fortunate to have Riley on our cheer team and we can’t wait to see her continue to shine!

ARROWS DANCE

Bella Waugh

Bella has been on our team for 4 years and is an exceptional role model for her entire team. She maintains a 4.0 GPA while taking a full load of classes including various AP classes. Bella’s teammates can rely on her for knowing all of our choreography, assistance in mastering new skills, and being a  friend to everyone. She is a senior captain this year and the Arrows are lucky to have her!

VOLLEYBALL

Isabelle Angus

Volleyball’s athlete of the month is Isabelle Angus. Izzie was chosen as a captain by her team this year. She is a 2nd year Varsity player, and plays middle blocker. She is a leader on and off the court, and always gives her all when she plays. She leads the team in hitting percentage and has 28 kills on the season. She also has 4 aces, 6 blocks and 30 digs.

Caroline Fischer

Caroline is a junior team captain. She’s been a vocal defensive leader for the team and helped lead us these first few weeks of the season!

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Ryan Nations

Ryan is a Junior transfer and new to the Bowmen XC team. Ryan jumped right in with his new team and has quickly elevated himself to a varsity spot on the team. Ryan has a great work ethic and has fit right in with his new team supporting his teammates and leading by example. We are excited and fortunate to have Ryan join the Bowmen XC team!

Tyler Thomas

Athlete of the Month Tyler Thomas has had a strong start to the season finishing as the number one runner for Sherwood in the first four races. Tyler’s accomplishments include winning the Saxon Invitational and posting a large PR at The Mook Invitational.

BOYS TRACK & FIELD

Ryker Wolvers

Ryker is a senior captain on our Track & Field team. Ryker is an amazing team captain and role model for his younger teammates. Ryker is ranked 4th all time in SHS in the 110 hurdles and 2nd in the 300 hurdles and qualified in both events for the OSAA state track meet.

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD

McKenzie Milton

Senior McKenzie has been one of our most go to track athletes this Spring. She has competed numerous times in the maximum four events per track meet. McKenzie qualified for three events to the State Championships in Eugene. McKenzie was also on multiple school record breaking relays this year.

GIRLS GOLF

Gracee Bayne

Gracee, a senior co-captain of our golf team, has distinguished herself as a leader on and off the golf course. Gracee has diligently worked to refine her golf skills while being thoughtful and helpful to the coaches, as to the betterment of our team.  Gracee never missed a practice and her consistency, hard work, leadership and good spirits were critical contributions to our golf team’s success this year.

BOYS GOLF

Mason Wahlberg

Mason is a 4-year varsity letterman in golf, 2 in football and also played 2 years of basketball. Off the field, he is a member of the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Most importantly, Mason “Iceberg” Wahlberg is a great young man who exemplifies leadership and being a positive role model for others on his team and in the community.

BOYS LACROSSE

Joey Causey

After being out most of his Junior season, Joey has been an absolute force to reckoned with in his Senior Year. Even when our team has lost he has dominated at the Faceoff X. Joey has an unmatched physicality and tenaciousness to him on both the practice field and in game. Our team wouldn’t have the same opportunities for success without his effort in gaining us so many possessions. Great work Joey!

GIRLS LACROSSE

Heidi Schaefer

Heidi Schaefer has been a Captain the last 2 years. She has been a starter since her freshman year and is the reason for our teams success.  She volunteers and is ranked #1 in her class.

BASEBALL

Parker Fabrycki

Parker leads by example with his intent and effort on the field. He has been exceptional for us defensively and at the plate throughout the season, and is playing his best baseball as we head into playoffs.

Cohen Gladheim

Cohen is a four year varsity Letterman , currently carrying a below-par scoring average in league play and intends to play college golf next year and beyond.

Campbell O’Connell

Campbell is an excellent student, consistent and cheerful. and a leader of the team both on and off the golf course. As Co-Captain, Campbell  leads by example in her preparation at practice and as a stellar competitor in tournament play. She consistently has the lowest individual score of our Sherwood team and recently posted a 70, which is 2 under Par, as the medalist and the lowest scorer of all those entered in the tournament. 

GIRLS LACROSSE

Quinn D’Elia

Quinn has played excellent lacrosse this month.  She has worked hard in practice, and it has led to greater play on the field along with great leadership. 

BOYS TRACK

Drew Smith

Senior Drew Smith is continuing right where he left off his junior track season. He is currently ranked 1st in the Pacific Conference, 2nd in 6A in the state, and 10th in the nation in the Javelin. Drew’s work ethic and team leadership is outstanding. Drew plans on attending and throwing javelin next year for Duke University where we have no doubt he will continue to do great things.

GIRLS TRACK

Evylee Bugher

Evylee has competed at the top level of the Pacific Conference and been a part of the school record breaking distance Medley Relay. She has also come very close to breaking two other school records as a freshman. She is currently undefeated in league races and sits atop the league times for the 1500 and 800 meters and is 4th in the 3k and 5th in the 400 meter showing a large range. 

BASEBALL

Kyle Sheller

Kyle – senior/3rd base – has excelled at the plate all season. He’s currently first or second on our team in average, hits, triples, RBI, runs and stolen bases, and has several clutch hits that have been the difference in many of our victories.

BOYS GOLF

Jackson Schweitzer

Jackson is a 4-year letterman and this year’s Team Captain of the SHS Men’s Golf Team. Jackson recently shot a personal best 9-hole score of 33 (-2).

GIRLS GOLF

Macy Odella

Macy has been a strong competitor and contributing member of our Golf team. During The off-season. Macy consistently took private lessons and worked hard on her golf game. She has notably improved her golf swing and is certain to be a leader for this upcoming competitive season. 

BOYS TRACK

Brody Black

Brody has an outstanding work ethic. He consistently attended winter conditioning and maintains a great attitude each and every day he steps foot on the track. He leads by example and is an excellent role model for his track teammates.

GIRLS TRACK

Katelyn Werle

Katelyn was consistent during winter workouts, positive energy, leadership qualities, humility, etc. Katelyn has had almost perfect attendance at practices since the beginning of the Winter training period. She is hard working, does everything she is asked and is very coachable. She is currently ranked 12th and 16th in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles.

Claire Churilla

Claire has been a leader in pre-season workouts and in the weight room. She has been a leader to the new kids and has made it fun while working hard.

BOYS LACROSSE

Nathan Sharp

Nathan is a student athlete with an unparalleled work ethic. He is always putting in extra work outside of practice in efforts to improve his ability to contribute to his team. He is a constant advocate for not only his teammates but the program as a whole. 

BASEBALL

Wilson Medina

Wilson began his career with the Bowmen with a 405 foot grand slam and a triple in his first two at-bats. He’s going to be a game changing player for our varsity squad throughout the spring – his speed, athleticism and raw power gives our lineup incredible depth. 

SOFTBALL

McKenna Parmelee

McKenna is confident, kind leader on our team that has been a powerhouse in the lineup and will continue to make great plays for her pitcher and team behind the plate. First game of the season she had a home run and caught some runners stealing on her. McKenna also helps youth softball programs and give back to the softball community and wants young players to succeed. 

BOYS TENNIS

Nolan Gardner

Nolan is co captain of the boys tennis team.  He was voted in because of his willingness to serve his team and lift others up.  Our season just started and he’s been a pleasure to coach already.

BOYS SWIM

James Applegate

James is a Senior this year and a Captain.  James has had a great season so far.  He placed 4th in the 100 Butterfly and 7th in the 100 Breaststroke.  He also swam on the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay both placing 3rd.  The Boys 400 Freestyle relay also qualified for the State Swim Meet.  He has been a great asset to the team and will be missed next year.

GIRLS SWIM

Mia Webb

Maia is a Junior and a Captain this year.  She has had a great season so far.  She won the 200 Individual Medley and placed 2nd in the 100 Freestyle at Districts.  She also swam on the 200 Freestyle Relay and anchored the winning 400 Freestyle Relay.  She will be swimming both individual events at state along with 2 relays at the State Meet.  She has been a great asset to the team and we look forward to having her on the team next season!

BOYS BASKETBALL

Drew Smith

Drew has been an incredible leader for our entire program and is our most physical player on the basketball court. He leads with positivity, rebounds at a high rate, defends with enthusiasm and gets BUCKETS!!! 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Paige Bittner

Paige embodies everything that Sherwood Girls Basketball stands for. She’s fiercely competitive, bringing her all to every game and practice. Her boundless energy is infectious, lifting the spirits of her teammates and energizing the whole team.

Tyler Bowdoin

Tyler is a freshman who has been a great asset to our team this year.  He has won many individual races this season or placed in the top 3.  He always comes to practice asking for ways to improve and ready to work hard.  He is very coachable and shows great sportsmanship.  We are excited to see how well the rest of his season goes and look forward to having him on the team for 3 more years.

Maddie Hutton

Maddie is a freshman who has been a great asset to our team this year.  She has won every individual race this season and been on multiple winning relays.  She always comes to practice ready to work hard.  She is very coachable, shows great sportsmanship and leadership.  We are excited to see how well the rest of her season goes and look forward to having her on the team for 3 more years.

BOYS SWIM

Connor Petty

Conner is a Freshman and new to the sport of swimming.  He has been working really hard and is very coachable.  He has had perfect attendance at practice and it shows in his strokes as he has improved so much in just a few weeks.  We are looking forward to what the season has in store for him.

GIRLS SWIM

Tyler Thomas

Tyler is a Freshman and has been working very hard in practice.  She is very coachable and always comes to practice ready to work hard. She has made great progress on her technique.  We are looking forward to her continued success throughout the season.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Ava Heiden

Ava has responded to season ending injury last season and put in the work to return to competition. At the jamboree versus Grant and West Salem, the hard work showed and we saw a physically-ready athlete and she truly shone. This season is going to be magical with Ava at full strength. She is also such a great teammate

Connor Parry

Connor has been a great leader for us on both ends of the floor. He plays multiple positions, defends multiple positions, scores, rebounds and distributes the ball. On top of all this, he is a GREAT teammate. He is an absolute joy to coach.

Tyler Thomas

As a Freshman Tyler has consistently improved over the course of the season and placed in the top 3 on the team at all the meets this year, including once being the Bowmen’s top finisher. 

ARROWS DANCE

Bella Waugh

The Sherwood Arrows athlete of the month for November is Bella Waugh. Bella is a third year junior and an integral part of our team. Bella’s incredible work ethic both in the studio and in the classroom helps her to succeed at all she does. In practice, she takes risks, never stops working, and does it all with a smile on her face. We are excited to see all that she will accomplish this season!

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Abel Schwanz

Abel is a Junior that joined the XC program this year. Abel has quickly developed into a varsity distance runner, cracking our top 7 late in the season and earning his spot at the varsity Pacific Conference Championships. At the conference championships he set a personal record and earned 2nd Team All League honors helping his team win the Conference Championship and earn a ticket to the State XC Championships.

GIRLS SOCCER

Grace Coston

Grace Coston is a Junior and one of our three captains. She’s had a particularly strong last thirty days both on the field as well as an encouraging and positive attitude during practices.  Grace was voted First Team All League as a midfielder for the second year in a row and capped off a remarkable girls soccer season with a fantastic header goal in our second-round playoff game! Way to go, Grace!

VOLLEYBALL

Campbell O’Connell

Campbell has been a vital part of the team this whole season. Playing all the way around, Campbell is the top serve receive passer and one of the top hitters.

CHEER

Clare Odella

Clare is an outstanding young woman and athlete. Clare is a very high academic achiever, she pushes herself in the classroom and on the sidelines, practice and in the weight room. Clare exhibits many talents in cheer, Extreme talent in tumbling, stunting, cheering, sideline presence, facials, a mentor, a friend and an encouraging voice. I have really enjoyed my four years of coaching  this athlete and I am excited for her future.

ARROWS DANCE

Hailey Maughan

The Arrows athlete of the month is Senior captain Hailey Maughan. As coaches, we can always count on Hailey to come to practice prepared, to lead by example, and to always give her all. When Hailey is not practicing with us, she can be found practicing at her dance studio with her other competitive team. We are so excited to see what the future holds for Hailey, the sky is the limit! 

VOLLEYBALL

Emily Fulton

Emily Fulton. Emily is a 4 year Varsity starter. She has stepped up the last couple years as a leader on the court, and this year is a co-captain. She leads the team in kills with 153 and is a key player for the volleyball team this year.

GIRLS SOCCER

Maya Ince

Maya has helped us tremendously! She gets herself in front of the goal and creates dangerous opportunities. She has 2 goals and 4 assists so far this year. Her goal against Century was the game winner! 

We appreciate Maya for her strong work ethic in games and in every practice.

BOYS SOCCER

Evan Oliver

Evan Oliver is senior leader on and off the field.  On the field he has only conceded 3 goals this season and been a part of 5 shutouts.  Off the field Evan has a 4.0 unweighted gpa and a 4.3 weighted gpa.  He has taken 3 AP Classes and is currently taking 2 more as well as being an active member of the National Honors Society.  He enjoys math and science and wanting to explore engineering more in college.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Kole Norman

Freshman Kole Norman is a member of the Sherwood boys varsity cross country team. Kole is an amazing distance runner with an incredible work ethic. Kole holds the fastest freshman 5k time in SHS history and his time of 16:24.3 places him 14th on the overall Bowmen record board.

FOOTBALL

Liam Kliever

Liam is the definition of versatility, his heart and determination to be the best possible athlete drive him to do anything the team needs to succeed.   He is not only a wide receiver and corner back on offense and defense respectively, but also one of the most valuable players on our special teams units.  In the primary coverage position he is the tackle leader on kickoff after six games.

BOYS SOCCER

Logan Furino

Logan is Junior and has been a Varsity starter as a freshman.  He is one of our team captains and looks to use his experience to help lead on and off the field.  On the field, Logan had 2 goals and 2 assist in the first 3 games. He is a versatile player and frequently shifts between offense and defense to meet the team needs.  Off the field, he leads by example and with core values of working hard and being respectful.  Logan is a 4.0 student and is also a part of Student Council where he has been working with that team to plan Homecoming events.  Logan is a great example of a well rounded Student Athlete.

Bryn Lahart

Bryn Lahart has been a major contributor to the girls soccer team! Her work rate is off the charts.

VOLLEYBALL

Hannah Brown

Hannah is a 4 year returning Varsity setter. She is taking on the role of a 5-1 this year, and is proving why she was the Pacific player of the league last year. She is a captain, and leader on the court. Hannah brings a calm demeanor to the court and earns the respect of her teammates through her hard work on the court.

DANCE

Brodie Balzer

Brodie is a 4 year member of the Sherwood Arrows. Not only is Brodie a phenomenal dancer, he has a heart of gold! Your coaches are beyond proud of you.

CROSS COUNTRY – BOYS

Dylan Weniger

Junior Dylan Weniger is off to a fast start! Dylan was the individual champion at our Pacific Conference Preview meet winning by 27 seconds. Dylan is also a team captain on the SHS Cross Country team leading by his outstanding example of great work ethic. He hopes to lead his team to a qualifying spot at the State Cross Country Championships.

Evylee Bugher is our girls Cross Country athlete of the month. In our second meet of the season Evylee won the district preview over all the Pacific league teams. She also finished as Sherwood’s 2nd fastest runner at both the Wilsonville night meet and Meriwether Classic.
