Message From Mrs. Voss

It was great to get to see some new and familiar faces at our Parent Partnership Night this week! Fall conferences will be Monday, October 16, from 4:30-8 in the Commons, and we will have some of the same resources available about standards based grading, ParentVUE and Canvas, as well as access to our amazing staff all in one convenient location. We hope to see you there!

We want to follow-up and thank the Bowmen community for expressing your concern and well wishes for the Century football player who was injured at last week’s home game. He’s recovering well, and he and his team are grateful for your support.

As an Associate Principal, I’m lucky to be part of a team that works collaboratively to manage and lead this great school. Each of our Associate Principals will take turns in the coming weeks sharing a little bit about who we are and how we serve Sherwood High School.

Each of us takes responsibility for overseeing the support of a third of SHS students, divided alphabetically by last name. My students are in the back third of the alphabet, O-Z. We’re responsible for ensuring students are getting the services and support they need across the building. Supervision and management of departments is split between administrators, and I am fortunate to supervise the Arts, Counseling, Math and Student Success Departments.

One of my favorite things about being an Associate Principal is getting a front row seat to watch students master their crafts, particularly in the arts department. Our AP Art Show artists in the Spring, and students from across the performing arts coming together to create musical productions are some of the events I most look forward to each year.

If you are a student, family member, or community member that has questions or needs help in one of the areas I support, I am always happy to connect with you. I can be reached at kvoss@sherwood.k12.or.us, and 503-825-6005.

Have a great weekend, and Go Bowmen!

Katie Voss
